01. Overview

I created this Bookshop website as a personal project to practice Figma and challenge myself in school. The goal was to design a small online shop for people who enjoy classic literature and want to find collectible editions with refined, detailed cover art. I focused on creating a clean, elegant layout that highlights the beauty of the books while making it easy for users to browse, explore, and enjoy the shopping experience

02. Problem

Many readers rely on large retailers like Indigo, but these stores don’t always offer a space that feels tailored to classic literature lovers or students searching for specific books for school projects. I wanted to address this gap by creating a website with a more old-school, academic feel, designed for people who appreciate collectible editions, traditional book art, and a more curated experience. My goal was to serve both students and book lovers who value a timeless, refined touch.

03. Design Process

I started by researching classic book aesthetics and looking at how readers browse and search for specific titles. Using Figma, I created wireframes focused on a clean structure that showcases each book’s cover art and makes browsing easy. I explored typography and colors that reflect an old-school academic style while keeping the layout modern and user-friendly. I designed clear categories for students and collectors, built simple navigation, and created a calm, elegant interface. After refining the layouts, I developed a polished prototype that highlights both usability and the charm of classic literature.

04. Solution & Results

The final design delivers a clean, elegant bookstore experience that highlights classic books through refined visuals and clear organization. The interface uses warm typography, simple navigation, and a vintage academic style to create a calm and nostalgic browsing experience. Users can easily find collectible editions, explore categories for school requirements, and enjoy a layout that feels both timeless and modern. The result is a bookshop website that meets the needs of students and classic literature lovers while offering a smooth, intuitive user journey.
